Indie Film was established in 1998 by producer Carsten Aanonsen .
Carsten came from Eureka film og Tv where he created and produced over 200 documentaries, television series, commercials and corporate films over a period of eight years.
Indie Films’ focus is to develop creative productions with special emphasis on documentaries and drama. We like working on projects with substance and a message we care for.
Resent productions include:
“prøvetid” (Trying Freedom) a feature documentary released on cinemas October 2008. Release on DVD in Norway March 2010, broadcasted on tv2 February 2009.
“Institusjonen” (The Institution), a 13 part docudrama from a rehabilitation centre outside Oslo, shown on NRK. The series received the distinguished Red Cross’ humanitarian award.
In production:
“Pushwagner” a documentary about the eccentric Norwegian pop-artist Pushwagner, directed by Even Benestad. Selected to the Norwegian Film Institute’s “New Experimantal Docs” programme.
Under development:
“Club 7”, a tribute to the legendary Norwegian nightclub that exsisted in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Experience the place through its key guests and owners eyes, - today.
“Tordenskiold” A historical drama made for television or cinema based on the Norwegian/Danish legend.
“Stompa” a new development based on the hugely popular original sequel from the 60’s. Feature film sequels and TV drama.
Indie Film has a membership in the Norwegian Producers Association, a membership that gives assurance that Indie Film works under Norwegian Union regulations. The company is also a member of the EDN, the European Documentary Network.
Indie Films’ Manager and Producer Carsten Aanonsen was selected into EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs’), the renowned producers development course under EU’s Media Program. He received a scholarship for this from the Norwegian Film Fund, and participated with the documentary project “Can’t buy me love”, written and directed by Even Benestad, based on an idea by co writer Grethe Bøe.
Indie film has a solid network of professional directors and film workers in Europe through EAVE, as well as in the Nordic countries.
